Ian's Howidunnit

Ian MacArthur

I almost landed out going up the Cotswold edge, but got a lucky save of 6kts to 4,000ft east of Cheltenham behind the hill. Nice. And then it was fun until about Shobdon where it went horrible. I managed to trickle along the ridges to get to the turn, then I parked on a ridge with Andy Davis.

When the sun didn’t come out, we got out from the ridge and managed to creep into the better weather to the east. Once I was back in the better weather, I followed a good line of energy (possible a convergence?) all the way home. I did a conservative final glide, but was still racing because I was scared about being chased down by lots of cirruses.
