Well done Olly for a top comp.

The party
August 24th, 13:39Having spent the afternoon making arrangements to serve the food under canvas on the 'terrace', it started to rain at about 7.20pm. So it was decided to change location and serve food and eat in the workshop (where we've been holding briefing).
Alex went to fetch the bus, whilst others re-arranged tables, lit candles and found some music to put through the PA. The food was brought down Richard who was driving our launch point bus, which then returned for the guests. Who needs a pink stretch limo when you have a big yellow bus - there is no cooler party transport. The guests brought enough liquid refreshment to last through the meal. And it worked! Slight shortage of cutlery at one stage, but a washing up station was swiftly set up and manned by David Roberts.
It was noted that the current contest leader was first in the queue for pudding.
Many thanks to Richard, Sandy and their team of people for providing such a lovely spread. Numbers were higher than expected, but most people were happy and all in all it was a really enjoyable evening.
And thank you to everyone for mucking in and going with the flow.
James' Howidunnit
August 24th, 13:26It was nice to get home and it was easy, but then I s'pose it always is when you win.
Nice day. Good fun.
(Blogger's note: I couldn't make him say any more than that. In fact he just wanted to carry on reading the 'Boats for Sale' page of a magazine, so I left him to it. Even the usually terse Webmaster was surprised by James' brevity...)
