12:18 - NEW Record for this week, all gliders launched in 40mins 55secs

13:14 - 1st Landout

15:00 - 1st Finisher landed

18:00 - The results say it all. Congratulations to Tim Scott. There really was no cutting corners with scoring on the last day! A courier was waiting for the logger as the last finisher landed.

08:00 - Forecast isn't looking too good today. Sid's weather.

09:30 - ...nevertheless we have a task.

10:45 - First launch 11.00 hopefully.

Two sniffers launched.

11:30 - First launch. Task B

12:15 - Task scrubbed. 1 landout

Friday 28th July - Day 6 Task | Results | Gallery 

08:00 - Early cloud has already cleared and we have a promising forecast. Sid's weather.

10:39 - 1st Launch 11:30, Launching from south end on runway 03

12:35 - Start line open in 10 minutes, start height 3000ft.

12:45 - Start line open.

13:55 - All competitors have now declared starts.

16:50 - 2 landouts within 30 miles of the airfield, we expect them back in their trailers before the 1st finishers get back.

17:33 - 2 Juniors decided to visit us from Dunstable

17:39 - 1st Finisher back, beating the trailers!!

18:01 - Here they all come!!!

18:41 - All gliders accounted for. 2 landouts

18:51 - Preliminary result to follow shortly...

19:47 - Preliminary now out... Why did DW moan about getting his backup!

07:00 - Overcast skies this morning but the forecast predicts thermals and showers this afternoon. Sid's weather.

10:39 - Tug pilots express concern at weight of snifter due to 3 puddings last night!!

11:01 - 1st launch not before 11:30, launch from the south end on runway 03

12:40 - Sniffer launched.

12:50 - 1.5 knots report from sniffer.

12:52 - Cloudbase 3000ft, 2knots lift

13.10 - launching the grid.

13:53 - All gliders launched in 42mins.

14:05 - Start line open max start height 3000ft.

14:20 - Crew discussion, Flying achievements before people were born or before the age of 1. answers on a postcard...

14:36 - All gliders have declared starts.

16:58 - 1st glider back.

17:49 - All gliders accounted for, NO landouts, 1st results to follow shortly..

18:46 - Preliminary results now out.

10:54 - 1st Launch not before 11:30.

12:05 - 1st Launch on Task A.

12:50 - All gliders launched, start line opening in 10 minutes.

13:00 - Start line open 3000ft above Aston Down.

13:27 - Crews discussing extreme ironing, would it be possible in space? answers on a postcard...

14:15 - A few pilots have been back for relights.

14:30 - 1st landout at Staverton.

18.20 - All gliders accounted for, 5 landouts.

Tuesday 25th July - Day 3 Task | Results | Gallery 

08:30 - Looking nice out the window again (see Sid's weather).

10.40 - Assigned area task declared. 1st Launch not before 11:30.

11:20 - All pilots to stand down until 12 noon.

11:40 - 1st task of the day completed, Brewery Out & Return by the Chairman!

12:15 - Pilots briefing at the front of the grid, task time reduced to 3 hours.

12:25 - First launch 10 minutes.

12:40 - Grid launching.

13:46 - Start Line Open.

16:56- 1st glider back.

18:10 - All gliders accounted for, 1 landout.

20:21 - Preliminary results published.

 
Monday 24th July - Day 2 Task | Results | Gallery 

09:00 - Blue skies (see Sid's weather).

11:00 - We did have a 400K task set but there has been a change of mind. Rebrief on the grid in 5 or 10 minutes.

11:30 - We have a 445.0 km task. First launch at 11:45.

13:20 - First start 12:50, last start 13:20.

17:30 - First finishers calling 2mins.

17:31 - Glider L1 is 1st glider back.

17:40 - 12 Back so far.

18:16 - Preliminary results published.

18:25 - No 6 has just asked if the start line is open yet.

18:43 - all gliders accounted for, 1 Land out.

09:00 - It's raining (see Sid's weather).

11:30 - Clearance coming - so I'm told.

12:45 - Grid starting to form. Rebrief on grid at 13:00.

14:50 - Everyone launched, start opens at 14:55.

20:20 - Everyone accounted for by 18:31with 2 landouts. Preliminary results almost ready.

20:40 - Preliminary results now published.

09:00 - Grid after briefing. Some doubt at the moment about the weather (see Sid's weather). The Halton tug hasn't managed to get here because of heavy showers to the east. No more updates until much later but a task will appear in the link above if one is set.
